When travelling to Thailand it’s an understanding of Thai Culture so as not to disrespect. Spirit Houses being one example, it is important not to do anything to offend their culture. They are generally small roof structures mounted on a pillar.

Spirit Houses which are situated in areas where frequent accidents have occurred, Thai people will toot their horns as they pass by. This is to make contact with the spirit asking for safe passage through the area,
It is very important to respect all spirit houses and statues throughout Thailand. Therefore dress appropriately if requested, dont touch or remove offerings from the spirit houses, or pose on a Spirit House or beside them.
