Koh Jum & Koh Pu Krabi
Koh Jum and Koh Pu Krabi are located in the Krabi Province in the Andaman Sea. Koh Jum and Koh Pu Krabi islands can only be described as the Sleepy Islands of Thailand.
Koh Jum & Koh Pu area is surrounded by the more known islands of Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi, which are all Krabi Islands.
The island is made up of two parts, the north being Koh Pu. and the south being Koh Jum. Koh Jum is much smaller than Koh Pu, but most of its hotels are located in Koh Jum.
There are 3 villages on the islands: Koh Jum, Ting Rai, and Koh Pu. If you happen to miss the signage for each village, it becomes obvious once you reach Koh Pu because it is densely populated with rubber trees and coconut.
Koh Pu is also home to most of the monkeys on the island. As always, it’s important to keep your items with you at all times as they have a tendency to steal.
Rubber tapping, selling mangrove trees for charcoal production, and fishing serve as the locals’ primary sources of income and food.
Tourism is a small percentage of businesses for the locals because for only 6 months is the island suitable for most tourists because of the monsoon season, especially the months of August and September.
The best time to visit Koh Jum and Koh Pu
The monsoon/rainy season starts from May to October; therefore, the best time to visit is from November to April.
Getting around Koh Jum and Koh Pu Krabi.
There are no cars on the islands, only motorbikes and bicycles. There are readily available motorcycle-side car taxis to take you around the island.
Alternatively, you can hire a scooter for approx. 250 THB a day or a bicycle. Hiring a bicycle in Koh Jum is very popular because the main roads are concrete and well-made.
Driving around Koh Pu and Koh Jum is very easy. The roads are well-maintained, and unless you drive off into the jungle, you can drive anywhere.
Banks
There are no banks or ATMs on the islands; therefore, it is important to take enough money for your stay.
Fuel Stations
Koh Jum and Koh Pu still have the old-style barrel and pump-style filling stations or the bottles of fuel dotted around the island.
Things to Do Around Koh Jum and Koh Pu Krabi
The Islands have such a laid-back, peaceful, tranquil vibe that it’s the perfect island to do nothing but sleep, relax, and enjoy doing nothing! In addition, the only activities available are taking a bicycle adventure, hiking to Koh Pu viewpoint with a guide, or participating in a cooking class.

Seafood restaurants in Koh Jum
Koh Jum and Koh Pu do not have livestock, therefore meats are sent via longtail boats from Krabi Town. However, the seafood restaurants have the most delicious seafood and fish dishes. One of the main sources of business for the locals is fishing; therefore, seafood and fish are readily available. Koh Jum Seafood and Chawle restaurants were equally good, and there was more or less a short walking distance between the two.

Golden Pearl Beach is another beach for a beach stroll. One end of the beach is very pretty with its fringed coconut trees and offers a fabulous sunset.
Long Beach or Andaman Beach: This is the better beach for a beach stroll. It also has a very nice vibe.
Ting Rai Beach: This is a beautiful beach; however, the water is shallow but picturesque. This is where the famous Rock Bar is located.
Magic Beach: Here too is a good sunset beach, but unless you have transport, this beach can be off-putting to some.
Beaches around Koh Pu
Coconut Bay Beach is a rocky bay but fabulous for a spot of snorkeling, and its home is the beautiful Rock View Terrace.
Sunset Beach and Secret Beach: The perfect spot to spend the afternoon and into the sunset. My favorite location, however, is Koh Pu, which is a good 20–25 minute drive.
It’s also home to the amazing Koh Pu Valley resort rock bar.
Banyan Bay Beach: This beach can be accessed only via the Banyan Bay Villas.
